(More customer reviews)I have been using my unit for 1 year now, and it still works well.I have had no trouble with the remote unit, and find that its sensor triggers the unit to ramp up the speed appropriately when I'm broiling steaks in the adjacent kitchen.I am happy with the unit's performance; however, be aware that the unit takes 3 carbon pre-filters, and 3 HEPA filters.

The only multi-packs for replacements that I have seen (produced by Bionaire) are 4 packs for the pre-filters and 2-packs for the HEPA.Accordingly, you need to buy one more carbon filter than you need, and 1 more HEPA filter than you need too (as long as you remember to purchase two packs of the HEPA).The filters are costly, and the bizarre quantity issues with how Bionaire sells the filters may require you to become a math guru (taking into account that you change the pre-filters more often than the HEPA filters, you will need to do some math to see what your needs will be for the year and order appropriately).

All in all - a good unit, but don't forget. . . the company sticks it to ya with the filters.

Oregon Scientific BAR638HGA Weather Forecaster with Temperature & Humidity Review

(More customer reviews)The first unit I received had the remote sensor malfunction after three days but it was enough to get a feel for this unit.

First of all the LCD is designed is a strange way. The humidity is listed first, temperature second. Every other digital thermometer with a humidity sendor lists temperature first. In fact, that's how the remote sensor displays it! Second, the seconds are displayed on the same line as the month and date! Weird. The radio-controlled clock doesn't work but that was expected in a large city. Unlike another review, the barometer works exactly as my older weather center, I had them on next to each other.

I bought this to replace an old Radio Shack weather center that was starting to malfunction. On that unit you had to run a wire out the window to get outside readings so I was happy to get something that was wireless. Then I discover that the wireless unit is not waterproof and has to be mounted in a protected spot away from direct moisture! I'm in an apartment and that's not possible. The rain hits all of our windows, especally during winter storms.

The replacement unit just showed up. I'll figure a way to use it.

(More customer reviews)Isn't this a cute and stylish timer?That's what I thought when I bought it...but as a timer it's useless.The buzzer is so faint and short, that you have to be standing nearby in the kitchen to hear it.Tonight I burned what would have been a wonderful pie because I was in another room when this weak buzzer sounded-and I didn't hear a thing.
I've had it! I've just ordered the Oregon Scientific digital timer to replace this cheap thing.

I saw this one and it looked more like something you would have in your living room than most of the other NOAA radios out there. It cost more but I was ok with that to get the styling I wanted. It does look good and I like that, but the weather forcasting is poor. I have tried setting the unit up like it says in the instructions, but it still will not show the weather right. It's is stuck on rain and never changes even when it is nice and clear outside. All the other features work fine and it does look good so it was an ok buy. If you want weather forecasting that is true look at other units, most cost alot more though.

(More customer reviews)The Oregon Scientific WMR968 is a very inexpensive but complex weather instrument.I have been researching home weather stations for over a year now, and just purchased the WMR968 from Amazon.com when the price dropped by half.At the current price it is worth the extra trouble to get it to do what it should do.At this price, you have to expect to do some extra fiddling to get it to perform.If you really want a weather station that is going to perform perfectly, time after time, right out of the box, keep looking.This isn't the one for you.But, on the other hand, for those of you who like me have very little cash to spend on a home weather station, this is a good buy.
Only beware!As is noted in these reviews, and on many other consumer review web sites, the manual that comes in the box is trash!Do not use that manual to set up and tune your WMR968.Please, please, please, go to the Radio Shack website and download the manual for the Radio Shack Cable Free Weather Station with AccuWeather, and use that one, it is excellent!The Radio Shack weather station is identical in all respects to the one sold under the Oregon Scientific brand name, except that, for some reason, it has a real manual written by a real American, and it has all the information you need.Note, that the manual that comes with the Oregon Scientific weather station has 9 pages.The Radio Shack manual has 36 pages.
My advice:if you decide to take the risk and purchase the Oregon Scientific WMR968 from Amazon.com, like I did, read all the consumer reviews, even the nasty ones.You should know what might happen to you.Gather up as much information as you can.I have found several exellent tips on setting up and tuning the WMR968 on this and other web sites.Another suggestion: join and contribute to a weather station bulletin board, such as WeatherMatrix.net.Share your knowledge and experience with others.Finally, don't be tempted to cut corners when setting up your weather station.The sensitive electronics are not tolerant of abuse.Do your best to make sure everything outdoors is weather-tight.

This is one of those ideas that make you slapp yourself on the forehead and say to yourself, 'why didn't I think of that?' The toast is sometimes difficult to eat, because it's just too funny! The toster even has a defrost option, which enables you to toast your frozen bread without burning the outside.... a very useful idea.
Depending on the setting you pick, you get different degrees of peace signs, but that is to be expected.
I can't think of anything wrong with this product. I gotta say, though, are there any other colors? It would be awesome to have a wood-colored one.
Again, an amazing novel product. An amazing gift, I would say.

(More customer reviews)I saw a presenter using this timer at a conference and thought it was an excellent idea - with both a clock and timer capability. I rushed off and purchased it and love the concept of having both those features. However the delivery is poor from the aspect of reading the numbers is very hard. The rest of the clock/timer works fine and I have absolutely no issue with those aspects. However, the design of the glass (well, plastic really) covering the digital readout causes so many reflections that it makes using this almost impossible in any place where there is a light source, or multiple light sources, that would cause reflection. If I had looked at the product photo more closely I probably would have noticed this issue.
